Module Overview

Module 7 is dedicated to integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the sustainability agenda of any business or organisation. It emphasises the significance of creating a workplace that values diversity across various dimensions, such as race, ethnicity, gender, and more, ensuring equitable treatment and an inclusive environment for all individuals.

Emma is an Assistant Professor at UCD's College of Business, teaching on the MBA and MSc Management programs. With an MPhil and PhD from UNSW Business School and an MSc from DCU, she's also a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Emma researches the social effects of algorithmic management, focusing on the future of work and content moderation in social media organisations.

The module introduces a DEI strategy, underpinned by data-driven approaches for enhancing DEI initiatives. It also explores the concept of applying a DEI lens to decision-making processes, fostering employee engagement, and employing measurement tools to monitor progress.

Additionally, the module addresses intersectionality, highlighting how interconnected forms of discrimination impact sustainability efforts. This comprehensive approach aims to prepare you to build more inclusive and sustainable organisations.
